Saidah Jones, a graduate from the University of Tennessee and track and field All-American and has worked as a fitness professional for over 15 years. Saidah relocated in 2001 to the California Bay Area in a pursuit of the 2004 Beijing Olympics. In 2003, while recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon Saidah was asked by the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Nursing to serve as the Physical Activity Director on a multimillion dollar cancer prevention study. Being involved in this research, Saidah was able to develop health education and physical activity programs that effectively brought about positive lifestyle behavior changes while reducing cancer and chronic disease risks. It was also during this research that she realized a lack of community resources and sought out to change that.
She has worked on diabetes management research study, developed health and wellness programs for both the City of Oakland and City of Berkeley, called L.I.F.E (Live by Improving Food and Exercise), served as the health and fitness expert for 106.1 KMEL(San Francisco), served as a member of the Physical Activity commission for the Shape Up Coalition-San Francisco, and hosted a wellness retreat in South Lake Tahoe.
In addition to creating healthy communities, Saidah has always maintained a strong client base. Her clients include former NFL and NBA athletes, Ms. Olympia (figure) and many of our country's most powerful female professionals. Saidah is known for helping her clients create a culture of health and self-efficacy in their own lives and that of their families.
In her home state of Georgia, Saidah is focused on increasing the health and wellness of our southern citizens. Her efforts include implementation of a school wellness policy that resulted in the Silver Award from Alliance for a Healthier Generation. Saidah also instructs students, faculty and teaches a running course at the Georgia Institute of Technology . In partnership with the Piedmont Park Conservancy, through her company Love You Healthy, she offers fitness programming that was recently featured on USA Network's hit television show Chrisley Knows Best. Saidah is also a brand ambassador for lululemon.
