Love you healthy blog by; saidah jones
With all of the amazing workouts that are both behind and in front of you, it is important that we are handling the other side of the health and fitness spectrum by eating clean. Minimize the amount of process foods that you get in your diet and most of the time that makes all of the difference. This is Love You Healthy and your health is the main goal here. Take these next two weeks to clean up your diet in the most simple ways by increasing water intake. Find one positive change that you can make to your diet, i.e having a salad a day. Next week look forward to Saidah's detox. Use this next week to prepare in little ways by cleaning your plate.
Now that we have become lean and limber we will end sessions with this yoga series which we have done in the past. This is a little introduction to what our summers will look like. It's important to be able to hold your body, own your body and move your body in a variety of different positions. We will begin to work on this again as I envision everyone to be in control and confident that you too can stand...on one foot!
This weekend will mark the beginning of the NCAA Basketball Tournament. What does this mean for you? It means that March Madness is coming to an end. We have had a good run of March madness. Many of you have trimmed up and are looking good. Now it is time to move into our next phase of fitness. We will continue our "bouts on the bike". Cardio will remain a staple the month of April, but circuits are back! As the weather gets better we will incorporate running and/or power walking to transistion into summer circuits. Mega-circuits are coming back
You might not be aware of this, but I have a vision for every client that I train privately or who attends a class. After working out a client for the first time, I can tell what you are capable of, what you could look and feel like in 6 weeks/months and the things that you need to do in order to reach those goals. Despite my expectations, that vision never becomes a reality until you make a clear decision about the goals that you want to achieve. With a quarter of the year behind us let's revisit our resolutions and enlarge your vision of what is possible. As Spring approaches, I am not only enlarging my vision for myself, but you as well. What does this mean for you in your workouts? You tell me! :-)

Love You Healthy will kick-off the Wellness Workshops with Seasonal Eating! It really does the body good by providing what your body needs for that time of year. Spring is the time for detoxing from all of those winter comfort foods. Adding seasonal greens is nature's perfect way to help you do just that. Here is a simple and fun seasonal snack and might I add fairly easy to make and customize with seasonings of your choice. All Hail Kale Chips
HANG IN THERE! Great job to everyone who has made it through the first half of March. We have had a killer month of high intensity cardiovascular circuits preceded by 20-30 minutes of intense indoor cycling. You have two more weeks before we begin to change it up a little. In the meantime, look forward to maintaining the indoor cycling session coupled with 30 minutes of upper/lower and abdominal circuits. We are not holding back. Every class will present it's own challenge which I am more than confident that you all can handle. See you in class...
March is our month of transistioning into a new body for Spring and Summer. With this transistion my goal for everyone our classes is minimum 5-10lb weight loss. Increasing cardiovascular exercise is one way to do it, however we have to work on nutrition as well. The key to good nutrition is better time management. Plan out your breakfast, lunch and dinner and stick with it. Cut down on process foods. Find one simple task to work on. In an effort to hit this minimum 5-10lb weight loss the first thing that you can do is to increase water consumption. If you have a water bottle pull it out from behind the counter top and use it! An increase in water consumption should decrease your soda and alcohol consumption for the month and it fills you up in situations when you think you are hungry but are really thir
When Lynsley can't make Saturday classes...there's a problem. We recently moved our Saturday class to 10am and it seems a bit late. Even if we have commitments for the weekend, the 9am time frame allowed a workout in before those commitments. Also with the Piedmont Park Green Market reopening (2 months early) parking is better at 9am. Daylight savings time is in effect next week and so will our new time change. Beginnng Saturday, March 9th (next week), our Saturday class time will move to 9am. Thank you for your patience regarding the logistics.
