Thanks to everyone for purchasing the Half-Off Voucher. I'm glad to be able to award you a deal for all of your hard work. There is a limit of one per purchaser and limit one as a gift. If you purchased more than the limit(1 voucher) you will have until 5/31/13 for the second voucher you purchased. I think most of you will be able to use your vouchers by then. You may give your gift voucher to someone who is NOT currently attending classes and that expiration date will remain 6/25/13. We (meaning Deirdre) was able to upload the Saidah Crunch City video on FB! It's a quick way to get the abs ripped, keep in mind we (meaning you) did a full-hour of including indoor cycling/weight resistance training prior. Don't forget cardio. This could be a 45 minute power walk, 30 minute jog or 40 minutes swim. Cardio is your ab work from the outside in, abdominal exercises is ab work, inside out. Gotta do both!
I need Half-Off Depot voucher numbers. Forever changed by my waste-free challenge I still produce the least amount of trash as possible. For that reason, I asked you not to bring in your vouchers but list it on the sign-in sheet. For this vendor, I must redeem the vouchers in order to receive payment. This usually isn't the case. Let's run...and eat! Fitness should be fun and in our quest to get three (fingers crossed four) fitness events under our belt for this we have the VaHi 5k coming. This race is local, fun and has a great finish prize. Lynsley's house. She has invited us to come over after the run for a little brunch. Spring is the perfect time of the year to detox, cleanse the liver, and absorb nutrients not found in winter fruits and vegetables. We have been doing an amazing job in class and for the next two weeks I would like to kick our diet into shape as well. Tomorrow after class, I want to touch a little bit on the Master Cleanse and the "ease in" phase which many of us can do for a digestive detox alone. 80% of our immune system lives in our digestive tract and tomorrow after class I will show you a few little things that we can do that will make a big difference in your health(approx. 30 minutes). When I ran track at the University of Tennessee, our coaches always stressed the best athletes were not always the best, but the ones who put in the most time, and missed the fewest days. We are rounding out the last of our April Showers. Hang in there. Now is your final time to push through the changes in schedule, work load and stay focused. I have even found myself getting away from my fitness routine. I haven't been to the Forum for a class in two weeks! Let this be the week to re-focus and get back on track. I will help with fun, energetic and exciting workouts for the remaining of Spring. Hang in there and remember, consistency is key.
This upcoming Saturday will kick off the Love You Healthy cleanse. We will do simple but smart ways to detox. Nothing that is too dramatic we will add a few things to your diet as well as eliminate a few things in order to go through a cleanse which I believe in essential to do from time to time for good health. The Detox Wellness Workshop will begin at noon/Saturday at the Piedmont Park Green Market. Thanks for your patience as we took the last two Saturdays off. One due to an Atlanta tradition, the 77th annual Dogwood Festival. I hope that many of you were able to get out and enjoy the art, atmosphere, but not the food! I look forward to picking our Saturday classes back up next. Our normal schedule resumes tomorrow. Spring is here! Y ou have made it through Saidah's March Madness in Spinergy and I am proud of you and our new participants who have come to class this last month. Pat yourself on the back. It hasn't been an easy month but you made it through the classes and I hope to keep you all on your journey to health, wellness and a bangin' bod.
As Spring settles in, I will focus on detoxing by encouraging you to clean your diet while implementing circuits. Please be mindful of what you are drinking and eating now. Many believe that our bodies function on cycles and that the Spring is the beginning of a new cycle. According to traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, our houses aren't the only things we should spring clean. My April 27 Wellness Workshop will focus on detoxing in the Spring. In the meantime, I will periodically refer you to detox recipes that can do wonders to promote your health. DETOX RECIPE #1
You have made great progress in March! The madness is finally over, but thanks to Christy, and the reappearance of her abdominal muscles, we will continue on the bikes. However, I will be adding your favorite - circuits for the second half of class. What this means is a variety of different exercises at high repetition and low weights to increase fat burning and muscle toning. This will constitute the last 30 minutes of class. This is a perfect way to prepare the body for the muscle defining that we will do Mid-May - June.
