Happy Halloween! The best part about Trick or Treating, the walking! Take your dogs, cats, cousins and neighbor. There is no better day to get in an extra mile or two after work. If not...buuurrrrrrrppeeeess.
We are moving into the Holiday Season and it's my favorite time of year. Everyone enjoys spending time with family, friends and their fitness trainers! We are intensifying our workouts in order to get you ready for those family appearances. Did you notice?
Want to lose weight? Burn at least 500 calories daily. How? Decrease consumed calories and increase in physical activity. For example, if you burn 300 calories in a workout, you would need to decrease calorie consumption in your diet that day by 200. How? Drink only water that day or replace your normal dinner side with 1 serving of fruit(lower calorie). See you in class, to burn some calories...

This morning I went to get a quick breakfast sandwich and use my free reward. I had the choice of a free espresso or smoothie. In the mood for something refreshing I ordered the low-fat smoothie. BEWARE when you see low-fat. Nevertheless, I ordered it thinking how bad could this be? Noticing a red liquid being poured into my drink, I became a little concerned. After a sip of this super sweet thing, I regretted not purchasing the espresso. Why, the espresso is basically a stronger coffee with no frills or colors it speaks for itself. Always go for simple and natural. I wasn't quite sure of what was in the smoothie I had ordered. I ended up drinking what my body (and yours) needs first thing in the morning, a nice tall glass of water.
Why do we only have New Year's Resolutions? There are three major times a year when things change and nature moves in different directions. Things either transform, die or become anew. Change takes place. Believe it or not, change is taking place in your life right now as well. Acknowledging it is another story. Re-evaluating your life every 3 to 4 months allows you the ability to recognize and make necessary changes that may or may not need to be made. As Fall approaches, we should be looking forward in our finacial life(holidays), physical life(cold weather) and emotional/spiritual life(relationships) to see if we stay on the current road traveling or find a new route. As nature moves, let's begin to think about moves that need to be made in our life in preparation for the new season ahead.
