Circuit City is back before the new year to give you an extra boost in your workout. Look for nice long 1 minute intervals to challenge you and keep that heart beating throughout your workout. We will get nice and sore with repetitive high intensity movements. The ultimate goal is to burn a load of calories while toning. So get ready, eat a big lunch, come to Spinergy and look good for the new year.
Let's do a body flush. You have survived Thanksgiving with a few servings of desserts, dressing, and much more. You have at least one workout under your belt and you need to try and get some of the pounds off. Let's go on a 5 day water-drinking challenge. For the next five days have nothing to drink but water. I will allow you 8oz. of any other beverage a day, but that's it. So let's go only water for the next five days. You can do it

Can you see how elated both Monish and Danielle were to have a small class today?
Danielle: A great runner and stylish dresser. Wishing fast feet and a quick recovery for her upcoming Atlanta Thanksgiving Day Half marathon. Go D!
Monish: One of my favorite clients for private training as well. Amazing squats, press, rows, and bicep curls with the 20lb dumbbells today!
Thanks to all who attended the "Think Outside the Lunchbox" Workshop. It was great and everyone received much needed nutrition advice. If you didn't attend the workshop, we are attempting to have at least one workshop per month. Hope to see you soon.
A QUICK RECAP: Breakfast: Should do just that, break the 6-10 hour fast that you have had sleeping. First thing you should have...water. Supper: Should also do what its name implies, supplement what you have had for the day. Lunch: The meal that you get most of your nutrients, vitamins, minerals and all of the things that keep you ticking throughout the day. Load up on lunch. We should all finish the bulk of our food consumption by 3pm.
Next workshop: Don't Deprive: Holiday Eating the Right Way, Dec.8, @noon.
So if you were in class today, you heard me mention a new product that I am still getting the hang of but like a lot. I feel this is a great product and offers wonderful alternatives. I will not say much about the product but what I will talk about is how much we as contribute to the landfill problem once a month.
My kids both used cloth diapers. I didn't want the chemicals from disposables, along with perfumed cotton on them. Also, I was aware of how many diapers my kids went through in a day. I also became aware that those diapers would have still been sitting in a landfill today (my daughter is 6). Buying diapers are like a 3-4 year endless pit of money that our family didn't want to be a part of. For many of these same reasons, I am glad to have stumbled on the Diva Cup @Whole Foods. So look it up online, check it out and tell me what you think. Someone reading this, will appreciate this product as much as I do.
Our family has enjoyed over a month of living waste-free. Our pocket are fatter and our waists are thinner! I really do feel good knowing that our family really eat less process food. I am proud of my husband and I for finding the time to make home-cooked meals. In the past 3 weeks we have probably eaten out only twice. The only cereal we consume is in bulk and all of our meat comes from the Farmer's Market. We love it and our family is healthier because of it. I strongly encourage everyone to make small steps towards becoming more conscious if not becoming waste-free. You really do end up happier because your life becomes more simplisitic. We will continue to move towards health in our life. I hope you do too!
One thing that I learned while running track and field at the University of Tennessee is how to set goals. With less than two months left in 2012, I am already thinking about goals for 2013. You should be too! The key to really achieving goals is to set short-term goals that lead to your long term goals. Every day is an opportunity accomplish a short-term goal, live the life that you want to live and be the person that you want to be. That might mean being more organized, losing a little weight, bringing down your blood pressure whatever you chose to accomplish, now is the time to start the thought process. Set the intention so you know exactly what you plan to achieve, be clear and know what you want to do. This is the first step and where you should be in preparation for the new year.
