Thanks to you for making 2012 a wonderful year. I am looking forward to what 2013 has in store for all of us. My goal for you is to be in the best physical shape that your can possibly be in for 2013. I hold myself to the same standards as I look for fitness classes that take me to the next level in fitness. Things to look forward to in 2013:
- Monthly Wellness Workshops (Vision Board Workshop, January 12 & 19).
- Three 5k's events (one down two to go).
- LYH Fitness Field Day event
- Camp Fit for kids 11-16
- Intense, cardio kicking workouts incorporating athletic training.

The countdown is on. We have less than two weeks until the Atlanta Hot Chocolate run and now is the time to start preparing for the big event. Begin by getting acclimated to the weather. Make opportunities to go on morning run or walk, this will help you find the gear that you will need in order to stay warm for the race. This upcoming Sunday will be our last Fun Run before the actual race. This session will focus on ways to warm-up before the race. Hope to see you there!
Our Christmas tree: Has been pulled down twice by my three-year old, has the wrong lights (white icicles) has a paper angel made by my six-year old, leans a little in the corner (because it has a too small stand) and is way too big for our apartment. Nevertheless, I still feel compelled to give it a proper buriel. I saw a neighbor throwing their tree in the garbage and cringed. I thought trees get recycled, composted, turned into mulch not trashed. Then I thought how? I looked up tree disposal and discovered the BOFTC (Bring One For The Chipper) program. Home Depot will dispose of your trees and the Boy Scouts will help to unload it. I am a little confused as to how I will get my 7 foot tree to Home Depot (if your tree is 4ft or under more than likely your county has a pick up day). So BYFTC, extend the life of your tree; reduce, reuse, recycle.
I don't know about you, but I so need a great workout to get my heart rate up, shrink my belly back down(too many Christmas cookies) and sweat! With the upcoming vision board workshop, I have been thinking about the things that I want to improve upon in my own life. A couple of weeks ago, I took a class called Fast Twitch at the Forum, it was a good class, but more importantly, it allowed me to workout as a client and not a trainer. Find ways and/or things to do that help to improve who you are or who you want to be. I not only consider myself the best trainer in Atlanta, I also want to be the best looking trainer in Atlanta. I recognize that pushing myself allows me to push my clients a little harder as well.

We only have about three more weeks left in the year to maintain our weight and not get completely out of control with our diet. The most crucial thing that I learned from the waste-free challenge is that planning is key to any success. Begin by thinking about how you are in control of your health. Next think about how your health goals could become vulnerable in the next few weeks and how. Then, put an action into plan so when you visit friends or go the party, you are not starving or thirsty. You are ready to have a good time eating and drinking lightly because you had a plan all along.
This time next week, we will be in the midst of the holidays enjoying family, friends, eating and drinking. That is why this week, I am going to take you out with a bang! Expect intense full-body workouts this week. With cardiovascular intervals and a variety of abdominal exercises, we will shrink the belly and trim you down, in preparation for the people, parties, and presents. Today has been a great workout for EVERYONE (private clients included). It was a day that made me sit back and say, "I want to do that workout!" Kudos to the hard work that you put in, even if you can't walk tomorrow. ;-)
TIME CHANGE ON SATURDAY! Beginning this Saturday (December 22)Spinergy will move back one hour to 10:00am! So get that extra hour of sleep and roll out of bed ready to start your Saturday with Spinergy. There will be no weekday classes next week, however we will have class on Saturday, December 29, 10am. Normal class schedule to resume January 2. Any questions please feel free to contact me.

This past week was the last Green Market of the season :-( However there are CSA's that will deliver to the parking lot on Saturday. I usually order from Atlanta Locally Grown. They have everything from meat, milk and veggies. I will keep you posted on the other CSA's that will become available for parking lot delivery. See you Saturday at Spinergy!
