![]() We often hear how important it is to get at least 8 hours of sleep per day. Most of us function at about 5-8 hours on a regular basis. Honestly, it is difficult to experience the negative impacts on sleep deprivation when we function in that deprived state on a regular basis. Most of my private clients, I train early morning. One thing that initially intrigued me was in spite of their workload, personal obligations or travel they never have a problem waking before dawn to exercise. After exploring this a little more I realized that sleep is just as much about lifestyle as diet. You have to make conscious choices in your life that set you up to move forward in obtaining healthy related goals. Being motivated enough to put discipline into action is what ultimately creates the changes that we want to see in our bodies and health. It's a challenge, but one that we are all equipped to handle. For me, sleeping 7 hours feels great. I function much better mentally, physically and emotionally. This means I try to be in the bed at 10pm on days that I wake up at 5am. What I have noticed is on those nights that I aim for a 10pm bedtime, my house is in much more order. The lunches are done for the next day, clothes are out and I have time to read or just relax before drifting off to sleep. Try to create for yourself lifestyle changes that ultimately shape your health, and well-being in a positive way. Explore ways to get: More Quality Shut-Eye.
