The word stress has over seven definitions in the Webster Desk Dictionary. Physical, mental or emotional tension is what most of us experience on a daily basis. This could be from your workout, which can serve as a positive form of stress to work-related expectations, which can lead to negative forms of stress. The top ten physical things to manage stress are: breathe, relax, take inventory, stretch, listen, focus, meditate, visualize, show gratitude, and move. However, I came across a few quotes that made me think that managing stress can take a different approach.
There are definitely physical things that we can do manage our stress but it really begins with how you think about what is happening in your life and the expectations that you hold within yourself. I am constantly pushing myself to become a better trainer, mother, friend, social media guru :-) , but when I increase my expectations I tend to become stressed out.
