Love you healthy blog by; saidah jones
I came across an article in an old Oprah magazine that reminded me of how I developed the name Love You Healthy. Suse Orman was counseling someone on financial freedom and ended her conversation with her (and mine for that matter) heartfelt belief: "You can turn everything around. You just have to love yourself enough to make it happen." That's what Love You Healthy is about, Love yourself to health. It really does trickle down to eating fast food daily or exercising daily when possible. Those who make the changes in their lives, weight, and/or cholesterol numbers are those who begin to value themselves a little more. They know that they are better than the red velvet cupcake and won't trade what they want most for what they want that moment.
About two years ago, I was standing and talking with another family whose children attended my daughter's preschool and had recently moved from the Bay Area as well. We laughed and were amused at how good fried chicken and sweet tea were. The father laughingly said, "Hey, in California, you thought you were too good for fried chicken!" It was so true! Sweet tea was literally nonexistent. We all agreed and laughed. I'm proud to say, I have more of a healthy balance now, but I want to you learn to love yourself to health. Set body boundaries by having a few things that you love yourself enough to do without.
